International clinical trials:

– SHARP
Simultaneous Hybrid Revascularization by Carotid Stenting and Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting trial.

Multicenter trial (Policlinico Tor Vergata, Rome, Italy, Civil Hospital, Mirano, Italy, Heart Center, Hamburg, Germany) on simultaneous hybrid revascularization with internal carotid artery stenting and coronary artery bypass surgery.

Shering-Plough EU Acadesine (RED-CABG Trial). Principal Investigator Luigi Chiariello, Tor Vergata University of Rome. Time of the study: October 2009-August 2010.

National clinical trial
Observant Study. Observational study to assess the appropriateness, efficiency and effectiveness of the AVR-TAVI in the treatment of aortic stenosis. National Institute of Health. Principal Investigator University of Rome Tor Vergata: Luigi Chiariello. Duration of the study: January 2011-June 2012. Policlinico Tor Vergata.

– University “intra moenia” Seminars of the Residency Program in Cardiac Surgery with the participation of teachers from the University of Tor Vergata and other Italian and European Universities, to address the most innovative diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular issues.

Topics of research carried out by means of multi-center trials:

1) simultaneous hybrid revascularization of coronary and carotid district

2) surgical treatment of heart failure using geometric reconstruction of the left ventricle and coronary artery bypass grafting
