Prof. Giuseppe Tisone

Giuseppe Tisone is the Director of Transplant Centre of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Rome – Tor Vergata. His training originated in Rome, Italy, where he obtained his M.D. (1980, University of Rome – Sapienza) followed by post-graduate degree as  Surgeon in General Surgery (1985) and Vascular Surgery (1990). Senior Lecturer qualified as First Assistant in “ClinicaChirurgica” – Tor Vergata University of Rome from 01/10/1984 to 01/03/2000 and then Professor of Surgery – Tor Vergata. Performed as First surgeon about 2000 surgical operations (600 liver transplants, many kidney transplants, 650 liver resections, 100 pancreatic resection…) and many laparoscopic operations. His scientific interest, with over 150 papers, focuses on Immunosuppression after liver transplantation, Tolerance after transplantation, Techniques of organ conservation, Transplantation, Biliary acids in liver transplant, HCV recurrence after Liver transplantation.
